Booster pump specialists delivered by Alton Pumps

Water Pressure Problems

Help with low water pressure, pressure drops, no water, fluctuating pressure and booster pump problems in domestic and commercial buildings.

Low water pressure diagnosis

Low water pressure is not always caused by a failed pump. It can be caused by low incoming mains pressure, a break tank issue, blocked filters, undersized pipework, a pressure vessel problem, a failed sensor, incorrect set points, worn pumps or high building demand.

What to check safely

Before calling, check whether the issue affects the whole building or only one area, whether cold water and hot water are both affected, whether the booster pump is running, and whether any alarm or fault code is displayed.

Possible booster pump causes

Common booster-related causes include one failed pump in a twin set, pump not starting, pump short cycling, failed pressure transducer, loss of vessel charge, faulty controls, blocked strainers or valves left partially closed.

What to send us

Send the postcode, building type, when the pressure issue started, photos of the booster set, pressure gauge readings, control panel messages and whether the issue is constant or intermittent.
